the sign I didn't photograph yesterday
The librarians in this town look so bored that I feared arrest if I were caught taking a photo of their sign requesting that patrons turn items barcode side up to prevent them from getting repetitive strain injury . See the irony in that very long, bordering on run-on sentence?
Dam! I wish I knew back when I worked in The Office that people in positions of performing tasks that fall under SSDD are entitled to put up a sign requesting that people do their jobs for them. Maybe my forearm wouldn't be such a hot mess.

Vegas revisited/signs of Vegas
It's already been a few weeks since I got back from my trip to Las Vegas with my two cousins, Fifi & Kelly. I won nothing but nice memories and a further view of Sin City. Here are a few signs I caught along the way. Kelly actually pointed one out at Paris that said something about "beverage citizens" (cocktail servers). It was always so congested when I was near the sign that I didn't want to experience a line of questioning :)

If you've ever been to Bellagio, you know the hush that falls over the lobby and conservatory. It's so beautiful there and I think this time was my favorite because I like butterflies so much. I'll make a slideshow of my favorites soon.

LOL, I sent an email greeting via the hospital website where my cousin just had her baby in Missouri...here are the instructions on addressing said email:
(Please do NOT address mail to "Mom," "Sis," "Grandma," "Bubba" or other nicknames.
Remember...we don't know who "Bubba" is, so unless you include the patient's first and last name,
we can't deliver his/her mail! )

Welcome China Dragon
A Chinese takeout has opened near us named China Dragon. There's nowhere good to eat around here that isn't an oversaturated chain restaurant so it's nice to have something different as an option. The food is fresh and good unlike the competition further into town who sold their soul to the buffet-going crowd by taking on more square footage and less concern for how the food tastes...but the buffet does have crab legs floating in the chaffing dishes on the weekends. Minnesota...well known for great seafood.
Sad that I post such things, I know, but it's a ray of hope for us in the "sticks" as it was so nicely described as I was telling someone at the reunion where I live.
Wednesday
stop schmop

Since I don't watch local news and the only paper that can be delivered to the hinterlands is the enemy paper (which we don't get in more ways than one), I had no idea about the new law here in the land of 10,000 crap drivers...stop signs are now optional! I know this because while driving yesterday at least eight vehicles rolled right through them as I was driving by intersections at anywhere from 40 to 55 mph!!! Isn't that great? Perhaps they should consider outlawing octagons all together!!!

Signs of the South
The future is in Charlotte, NC (I wish, it's really nice there)
The aliens now land at the beautiful furniture mall in Hickory and what can I say about the word "git" other than to give you a definition from the peevish.co.uk British slang dictionary?
git: Noun. An idiot or contemptible person. Derived from 'get'.

Gee! P.S.
Stob! Look at a map at the same time you program your GPS, lest you wish to take a magical misery tour!
I had a lot of time on my hands last week when road tripping so I didn't mind (much) taking the long, winding and sometimes slow country roads through Amish country, resort towns, fields, farms and other exotic locales.

Hey, at least we went to a Dog N' Suds. They didn't take credit cards so I couldn't buy the t-shirt (this time).

Indy, I'm outie!

There's nothing to report about Indiana...we had a nice visit with my friend and her family. I did my best to make the drive scenic and interesting.
The sign is from the Starbuck's at the Star Theater/Radisson in Merillville (sp?).
The Sonic is in heck knows where. Imagine my disappointment when I realized its existence exactly one exit from where Char and I had lunch at the Steak N' Shake, where my salad and small yogurt shake from their new "lighter" menu were a total of 900 calories!!! For 900 calories I could have had cheesy tots and chedd'r peppers!
