Wednesday

Things I like XI

I like watching "You Are What You Eat" on BBC America. I'm sure this woman's approach isn't for everyone but as for me watching it, I like to:
1) See the buffet table full of takeout food and sugary treats that the subject usually eats in a week. I especially like to hear the UK names for such things.
2) Hear Gillian McKeith holler about poo which usually cracks the subject up.
3) See the results after 8 weeks of said subject following Gillian's instructions...usually a loss of "two stone and four dress sizes", LOL.

Friday

a major miner miracle

As if mining isn't a tough enough gig...

Thursday

today's date: 10-4

click for links to cb recordings from the 60s & 70s, not for those who are easily offended...if you can get through it you'll find it's pretty much a case of the more things change, the more they stay the same.

list & note

list found by Kelly & Jake of the Nutshell and notes on wrestling found in front of the comic book store in Shelby, NC

Friday

buying books online

Sometimes I find myself on a reading streak (now is one of those times). I cannot afford to constantly go out and buy new books so I mostly use paperbackswap.com (PBS) and half.com to receive the books I'm interested in.

I hate, hate, hate when people advertise (half.com) that their books are "brand new" or "like new" and when I get the damn thing it has smudges, the black marker closeout store slashy thing and is anything but new. PBS, I can't complain as most books exchanged arrive in acceptable condition.

Thursday

A fair to forget

2006's trip to the fair was crazy, mad, nuts...we've had a note on the fridge since the moment we walked in the door last year stating we should go to the 2007 fair on a Monday or Thursday (we must've gone on a Friday).

Given the fact that funnel cake would take up an entire day's WW points, I just don't think we'll be in attendance this time around as I go there to eat and not for much else.

We'll go there next year as it's amusing to count the number of Democrat vs. Republican buttons and balloons.

Sunday

on the road again

If you've never seen the website "Roadside America", I suggest that you visit it, pronto. Click on the Muffler Man below to get there. It's what my blog wants to be when it grows up.

In the meantime, I'm just hoping for another uneventful trip from Illinois to Minnesota. It's funny, lately I find myself hoping for most things to be uneventful and if they turn out to be the good kind of memorable, that's just a bonus and praise be for all that.

Friday

on a related note...

YES! My cousin came through with her list of what she needed and the RECEIPT of what she actually ended up with, the difference is vast. I've always liked her handwriting. Thanks Kelly!
